The Vange Ward is being abolished following the recent Ward Boundary Review, so Yetunde will be standing for election at the Local Elections in May 2024 as a candidate in Pitsea South-East, along with Cllrs. Gary Canham and Craig Rimmer.
Yetunde has been a councillor for Vange since 2021. She is currently Deputy Mayor of Basildon, having served for two terms under the late Mayor Mackenzie, and also serves on the People Scrutiny Committee.
Yetunde is the founder and CEO of The Next Chosen Generation, a youth charity, and a published author. She is a project management consultant by trade and a motivational speaker. She is also UK Chairperson for Phenomenal African Woman (PAWAfrica UK), Vice-Chairperson of Basildon Side By Side, a STEM Ambassador for UK schools, member of the Forum for African, African-Caribbean and Asian Women in Politics (UK) and sits on the Advisory Executive Council of the international Women Economic Forum.

Vange falls within the Pitsea Division of Essex County Council. Yetunde worked closely alongside the late local county councillor, Luke Mackenzie, on county issues such as highways.
