David has been a councillor for Billericay East since 2002. He is currently Chairman of the Joint Standards Committee and the Staffing and General Purposes Committee, as well as Vice-Chairman of the Planning Committee and of the Overview and Scrutiny Commission.
David is also the Basildon Council representative on the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Panel.
He previously served as the 4th and 6th Mayor of Basildon from 2018 to 2019 and again from 2021 to 2022 and was responsible for raising record sums for local causes, including St. Lukes Hospice. He is also a successful solicitor, business-owner and a local magistrate.
David will be seeing re-election in May 2023.

Billericay East falls within the Billericay & Burstead Division of Essex County Council. David works closely alongside the local county councillors, Anthony Hedley and Richard Moore, on county issues such as highways.
