Conservative Candidate for Laindon Park (2023)
  • Borough Council Candidates

Chris is the Conservative Candidate for Laindon Park Ward in the upcoming local elections in May 2023 and has been working alongside our two excellent ward councillors, Jeff Henry and Kevin Wingfield. He has lived locally for 25 years and has been active in the local community from an early age, having spent his school-leaving summer holidays as a teaching assistant at a local school, helping with his local martial arts instructor's karate classes; demonstrating, teaching, helping to make commercial instructional videos and writing some articles.

Chris is a chartered financial adviser and was formerly a trustee of the Essex Beekeepers' Association.

He previously served as Basildon borough councillor between 2021 and 2022 and sat on the Resources and Commercial Committee, the Licensing Committee and the Planning Committee. He was also a Basildon Council representative on the Basildon Rail Forum. During his short time as a councillor, Chris helped set up and served as a trustee of a local friends group that is now flourishing. He also worked closely with Councillor Wingfield to bring Network Rail to Parliament and ensured the Varde Bullers Railway Bridge that connects Durham Road and Mandeville Way was repaired and the walkway re-opened to the public.
