Carole has been a councillor for Wickford North since 2000 and is currently Chairman of the Planning Committee.

She is also the Basildon Council representative on the South Essex Parking Partnership Joint Committee and the Essex Waste Group and Patrol.

Carole lives in Wickford with her husband, fellow Wickford councillor Don Morris, and is retired. Hers is jointly the longest continuous term of office of any current councillor on Basildon Council (along with that of Cllrs. Stuart Allen, Kevin Blake and Tony Hedley, who have all served continuously since the year 2000).

Wickford councillors hold a regular surgery on the first Saturday of the month (except January) at the Wickford Community Centre on Nevendon Road from 10am and 12pm. No appointment is necessary.

Her ward colleague is Cllr Peter Holliman.

Wickford North falls within the Wickford Crouch Division of Essex County Council. Carole works closely alongside the local county councillors, Tony Ball and Malcolm Buckley, on county issues such as highways.
